Telangana's Drugs Control Administration (DCA) seized various Ayurvedic medicines from various regions of the state for violating the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954. The raids were directed against products falsely claiming to cure rheumatism, chronic fevers, kidney stones, and eye disorders by misleading advertisements.

Raids Conducted Across Telangana:

  • Deceptive Ayurvedic products were seized in Siricilla, Kukatpally, Hyderabad, Bowrampet, and Hanumakonda.

  • The drugs claimed to cure diseases without scientific basis or regulatory approval.

Major Seized Products and Offenses:

  • 'ORTHO-AID OIL' (Leeford Healthcare Ltd.) – claimed to cure rheumatism (Seized in Siricilla).

  • 'Pleehamrutha Syrup' (Ravi Varma Ayur & Herbal Remedies) – claimed to cure chronic fevers and typhoid fevers (Seized in Kukatpally).

  • 'Amla Churnam' (Rinivaa Ayurveda Pvt. Ltd.) – misleading claims for the cure of optical system diseases (Seized in Khairatabad, Hyderabad).

  • 'STONE NILL DS Syrup' (Ultra Green, Unit-I) – misleadingly claimed for kidney stones, renal calculi, and urethral calculi (Seized in Bowrampet, Medchal Malkajgiri District).

  • 'MAHASUDARSHAN KADHA' (Om Pharmaceuticals Ltd.) – misleadingly claimed as a fever remedy (Seized in Hanumakonda).

Regulatory Violations and Legal Consequences:

  • The Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954, prohibits advertisements for drugs on some diseases.

  • The offenders shall be prosecuted as per law with or without fine.
