A major scam under the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS) has been uncovered, and there is widespread collusion between doctors and medical store owners. The scam, which includes the issuance of false bills, has caused financial losses running into crores to the state treasury. In the wake of the revelations, the state government has revoked 275 medical store licenses and vowed tough action against the perpetrators.

Recovery initiated by finance department
The recovery proceedings from the implicated doctors and medical store operators have been initiated by the finance department.
More than 100 such cases of fraudulent billing have so far emerged.
Tough action to be taken: Minister
State Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar stated that strict action would be taken against doctors if the finance department makes a formal complaint.
He stressed that the RGHS scheme belongs to the finance department but guaranteed collaboration in taking disciplinary action.
