In a sweeping crackdown under “Operation Black Thunder,” Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. Rajesh Gupta led simultaneous raids on eight unregistered clinics and medical stores in the Nokha-Panchu region of Bikaner. The operation exposed glaring violations, including unauthorized medical practices, lack of registration, and pharmacists missing in action.
Key Findings:
Janglu:
Maa Medical and General Store: Found using a CBC machine for tests without a licensed pharmacist. The store was immediately sealed.
Unnamed Medical Store: Operating illegally and sealed on the spot.
Panchu:
Krishna Hospital: This clinic, medical store, and lab lacked registered doctors, pharmacists, or lab technicians. Sealed for operating without any authorization.
Balaji Health Care Center: Expired medicines were found alongside unauthorized medical practices.
Palana:
Shri Jai Hanuman Medical Store: No pharmacist present, and an illegal clinic was found operating in a backroom. Both the store and clinic were sealed.
Jegla:
Unregistered Clinic: The operator fled during the raid. The facility was sealed.
Dr. Kaushik Clinic: An illegal setup running without any qualifications or registration.
Institutional Inspections:
Dr. Gupta also inspected five healthcare facilities, including primary and sub-health centers. Several staff members were found absent without prior notice, and biometric attendance systems were missing at most sites. Notices will be issued to absentee staff, and directives were given to ensure biometric attendance and cleanliness at all healthcare centers.
CMHO’s Statement:
“These operations are crucial to maintaining healthcare quality and ensuring that unauthorized practices don’t endanger lives. We aim to create a safer, transparent healthcare system,” said Dr. Gupta.
This large-scale operation highlights the need for stricter regulations and compliance in rural healthcare practices, aiming to safeguard public health.
