NPPA has fixed retail prices for 42 new drug formulations to ensure uniformity in pricing and transparency in the pharma industry. The notified prices on 7 February 2025 are for particular strengths and manufacturers of drugs, and are GST-exclusive where applicable.

Fixation of Retail Price:
NPPA has fixed retail prices for 42 formulations of particular strengths and manufacturers.
GST can be added to the retail price by the manufacturer only if it has been paid or payable.
Requirements of Compliance by Manufacturers:
Manufacturers are to submit their price list in Form-V through the Integrated Pharmaceutical Database Management System (IPDMS) to NPPA.
Copies of the price list are to be submitted to State Drug Controllers and dealers.
Manufacturers should possess the requisite licenses from Central/State Licensing Authorities to comply with these price guidelines.
Retailers' and Dealers' Obligations:
Retailers and dealers are to display the price list prominently to make it available to customers.
Penalties for Non-Compliance:
Manufacturers or marketing companies not complying with the prescribed prices are to deposit excess amounts with interest under the Drugs
(Prices Control) Order (DPCO), 2013 and the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
