During a top-level meeting at the Institute of Public Health (IPH), Namkum, Jharkhand Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari announced a zero-tolerance approach towards fraud by drug companies and medical stores. The decision has been taken in the wake of growing concerns over spurious medicines and illegal sales throughout the state.

Sale of prohibited medicines or codeine-based syrups without a valid prescription will be considered a legal offense and will be strictly enforced.
Routine Inspection and Accountability
Inspectors of drugs are instructed to inspect shops regularly and immediately take action against any irregularities. Inspectors who fail to comply will also be dealt with.
