The Vadodara Special Operations Group (SOG), in collaboration with the Food and Drug Control Department, has seized banned cough syrups and capsules worth ₹26.54 lakh and arrested two medical store owners for illegal stocking and sale of codeine-based medicines.

Vipul Rajput (23), resident of Ratilal Park Society, Waghodiya, owner of Oakland Pharmacy, near Gayatri temple, Waghodiya.
Keyur Rajput (33), resident of the Wadi area, owner of Ma Medical Store.
Seizure Details
4,785 bottles of codeine phosphate and triprolidine HCL syrup (Anrex brand) valued at ₹10.97 lakh.
1,59,120 capsules of NRX dicyclomine hydrochloride, tramadol hydrochloride, and acetaminophen (SEMDEX-plus) worth ₹15.57 lakh.
Additional seizure: Cash, mobile phones, and vehicles, totaling ₹26.54 lakh.
Raid Locations
Vipul Rajput’s house in Waghodiya and his godown near Gayatri temple.
Stores and premises connected to both accused.
Statements from Officials
SOG officials confirmed that the accused were involved in the illegal sale of banned codeine syrups, primarily targeting the youth. Upon interrogation, both confessed to stocking the banned syrups and capsules at their godown and medical stores without valid documentation.
The Food and Drug inspector accompanied the team and confirmed the products violated the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Both Vipul Rajput and Keyur Rajput have been booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling such illegal distribution networks and called upon the public to report suspicious drug sale activities.
