Gurugram police have busted a fake call centre that was cheating people by selling herbal medicines for sexual health issues. The operation, which had been going on for nearly 10 months, resulted in the arrest of 11 people, including four women.

Key Highlights:

  • Location of Raid: The call centre was operating in Dundahera village, Gurugram.

  • Arrests Made: 11 individuals were arrested, including key operators Amandeep (from Mumbai, residing in Gurugram) and Ranjit Kumar (from Delhi).

  • Modus Operandi:

  • The accused created a Facebook page, “The Vedic Ayurvedic,” impersonating Dr. Rajiv Dixit to promote herbal medicines for sexual health.

  • Orders were taken through mobile calls, on the pretext of GST, packing, and courier charges by deducting the payment from bank accounts or UPI IDs.

  • False herbal medicines were provided to the customers.


  • Remuneration to Staff:

Staff was paid with a salary of ₹18,000-₹20,000, along with other incentives based on high sales.Quotes from Leaders or Experts:

“We raided the fake call centre and arrested 11 individuals. Investigations reveal the accused were defrauding customers by delivering fake herbal medicines and charging extra fees under false pretenses.”Further investigations are on to trace the other accused who are involved in this cyber fraud. The case, filed under Sections 318, 319, and 612 of the BNS and Section 66-D of the IT Act, points to the importance of vigilance about online scams.
