The Drug Control Administration (DCA) conducted a raid on an unlicensed pharmacy in Dilsukhnagar, Hyderabad, seizing medicines worth Rs 1.15 lakh. The store owner, Neerkanti Nagesh, was found operating without a valid license and had stocked 19 varieties of medicines, including antibiotics, antihistaminic, and antiulcer drugs.
DCA officials emphasized that suppliers to unlicensed pharmacies, who ignore licensing regulations, also face penalties under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. The DCA plans to take strict legal action against both the unlicensed operator and any suppliers involved, reinforcing the importance of adhering to legal requirements in the pharmaceutical sector.
