2. Atmanirbhar Bharat:
The project is in tandem with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of a self-reliant India, "Atmanirbhar Bharat."
It is likely to significantly bring down the cost of production and increase access.
3. Recent Indigenous Developments:
India has developed its first indigenous antibiotic, Nafithromycin, which will combat drug-resistant bacteria.
The country successfully carried out its first gene therapy trial for Haemophilia.
4. Technology Transfer Success:
On DSIR's 40th Foundation Day, 16 new CSIR technologies were transferred to MSMEs under the "100 Days, 100 Technologies" campaign.
5. CSIR's Continued Achievements:
Some of the key achievements included the development of the hydrogen bus, biofuels, and lavender cultivation under the Aroma Mission.
Impact on India's Pharmaceutical Landscape:
Self-Sufficiency in Medicinal Production: This development further consolidates India's position in the pharmaceutical industry, playing a vital role in global medicament production.
Boost for MSMEs: Technologies handed over through the Laghu Udyog Bharati will boost small-scale industries
National Autonomy in Imports: With paracetamol now mass-produced in India, the country will no longer be dependent on imported supplies.
Quotes
