₹25 Lakh Worth of Illegal Stock of Medicines Seized in Lonar: Food and Drug Administration Action

The Food and Drug Administration has raided the district town of Lonar in Buldhana and seized an illegal stock of medicines worth ₹25 lakh. It has brought to light many irregularities in the medicine supply.

Medicines worth ₹25 lakh that were being stored without any valid license were seized.
The stock consisted of prohibited drugs such as stimulants (Viagrox-100), sleeping pills, abortion-inducing medicines, and other prohibited drugs.
Operation Details:
The operation was led by Assistant Commissioner (Drugs) Gajanan Pralhad Ghirke along with Drug Inspector M.V. Gothmare from Washim district.
The seized stock was found at the back of Chandan Medicoz, Room No. 1, opposite to the bus station in Lonar.
Instructions for Pharmacist:
All the pharmacy owners have been strictly warned not to sell sleeping pills, abortion medicines, or any other allopathic medicines without a valid doctor's prescription.
The sales invoice to the customer has to be given by all pharmacies for selling any medicine.
Investigation:
The samples from the stock have been sent to the lab for analysis
Violators will be given strict punishment according to the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
This operation has revealed an illegal act in the pharmaceutical supply chain, and consequently, it calls for an increased role of pharmacists, adhering to regulations.
