As the coronavirus outbreak has grappled the whole world, India is under complete lockdown with only essential services available. With almost everything shut down in the country and all of us locked in our homes, there must be many things we would be missing out on including our favourite food.

Introducing some delicious recipes you can cook at home without much hassle.

oats dosa
  • Oats dosa- Instant oats dosa is one such recipe that can help when you are hungry and you need something quick, filling, and guilt-free.

Ingredients-Quick cook oats — 3/4 cup, Rice flour — 1/4 cup, Wheat flour -1/4 cup, Green chilli — 1 no, Coriander leaves — 1 tbsp, Ginger — 1 tsp, Cumin seeds — 1 tsp, Pepper — 1 tsp, Onion — 1, Salt, Water

Procedure- Make a batter by mixing everything except onion. Heat dosa pan, pour some batter, sprinkle some onions, and little oil. When the dosa becomes golden brown take out and serve.

besan cheela
  • Besan cheela- Besan cheela is a naturally gluten-free, low GI breakfast option. Served with green chutney and a glass of chilled buttermilk, this dish is very good for diabetics.

Ingredients- 300gm Besan, 1 cup water, Salt, ¼ onion, 75gm finely diced veggies,1 tsp Red chilli powder, 1 tsp Coriander powder, 1 green chilli, 2–3 coriander leaves, 4 tsp oil, ¼ tsp Turmeric powder.

Procedure- Mix all ingredients to make a medium thick batter. Let it rest for 5–10 min, whip it up again to break the lumps.

Brush the non-stick Tawa with oil and with the help of a cup pour ¼ batter and spread it outwards using the back of the cup. Cook until both sides become golden brown.

Watermelon Mojito
  • Watermelon Mojito- Watermelon mojito is a perfect blend of mint and lime with sweet and juicy watermelon making it a refreshing and healthy drink for summer.

Ingredients- 3 cups chopped watermelon, juice of 2 limes, 1–1/2 teaspoons sugar, 4 fresh mint leaves, crushed ice, club soda

Procedure-Blend watermelon, lime juice, and sugar in a blender. At the bottom of the glass, muddle 2 mint leaves, add in watermelon puree, filling about 1/2 full. Add ice and top with club soda. Stir to combine.
