We urge the youth to contribute to better healthcare outcomes. This is essential for achieving “Youth Engagement For Global Action”. Therefore, the youth of today must prioritize their healthcare. The challenging global crisis such as COVID-19 and climate change leads to healthcare prominence. The focus now is to do more, feel better, and live longer. Healthy people and healthy communities are the foundation of a healthy society. Youth forms the basis to develop healthy communities for a powerful future ahead.

The youth of the nation performs a crucial role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals(SDG) of Good health, well-being, and peace.

We emphasize on the importance of youth in modern society to promote the healthcare ethos, propagate healthcare measures, and build the foundation of a healthy future.

Based on the analysis of the World Health Organisation (WHO), approx. 2 lakh cases of violence and health problems occur among youth between the age of 10–24 years. More young people are at health risks declining their capability to grow their potential. Youth is now working towards building resilience to overcome the side-effects of COVID-19 pandemic.

Certain healthcare measures and wellness tips the youth must execute for healthcare optimization are -

  • Daily Exercises — The youth must engage in doing lunges, squats, and dumbbell rows once a week to avoid a sedentary lifestyle. Few benefits are balanced blood pressure, a good heart condition, less stress, and healthy muscles and bones.

  • Eat a balanced diet Food sources enriched with vitamin C for immunity development and at least 7 hours of sleep is essential. A water intake of 8 glasses per day is important.

  • Weight Management — Eating in moderation and not in excess will keep weight in control, preventing obesity and other health consequences.

  • Stress Management — Yoga and meditation once a week will be beneficial for good mental health. Causes of mental illness are anxiety, depression, loss of self-esteem, weight gain or weight loss, and excess fatigue. Identify these causes before it’s too late.

  • Be alert about your moods and feelings. Being vigilant about your emotional health is a good way of taking charge of your overall health. Be happy about the way you are as a person — If you have low self-esteem or are unhappy with your body physique then consult your parents or a suitable doctor.

  • Use the power of digital technology and connectivity for improving your healthcare experience. Use smartphone apps for effective management of diet, health, and exercise. Use wearable technology to keep a check on health parameters and to develop the quality of healthcare.

Seriousness and vigilance to implement these wellness tips should be the priority for a healthy future. Compliance and adherence to a healthcare regime are important for the ideal results. The initiatives taken for health development now will help in developing the quality of lifestyle.
