The Drugs Control Administration (DCA) of Telangana in a strong crackdown against unauthorised manufacture of drugs and spurious medicines seized drugs valued at ₹2 crore during two raids conducted on December 31, 2024.

  • Illegal manufacture of drugs, such as Asperflex Cream, Medpura Zinc Oxide Ointment, and Ammonium Lactate Lotions and Creams.

  • Spurious drugs were found with forged labels indicating that they were manufactured by Sun Pharma Laboratories Ltd.

  • A raid revealed counterfeit batches of Montek-LC Tablets in circulation.

  • Confirmation by Sun Pharma highlighted discrepancies when compared to genuine batches.
