The Drugs Control Administration (DCA) of Telangana in a strong crackdown against unauthorised manufacture of drugs and spurious medicines seized drugs valued at ₹2 crore during two raids conducted on December 31, 2024.
Key Highlights:
Raids on Akron Formulations India Pvt. Ltd.
Location: Bollaram, Sangareddy district.
Findings:
Illegal manufacture of drugs, such as Asperflex Cream, Medpura Zinc Oxide Ointment, and Ammonium Lactate Lotions and Creams.
Manufactured without a valid license under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
Seized Stock: Drugs worth ₹2 crore.

2. Spurious Montek-LC Tablets
Place: Santoshnagar, Malakpet, Hyderabad.

Spurious drugs were found with forged labels indicating that they were manufactured by Sun Pharma Laboratories Ltd.
A raid revealed counterfeit batches of Montek-LC Tablets in circulation.
Confirmation by Sun Pharma highlighted discrepancies when compared to genuine batches.
