The Rajasthan Medical Services Corporation (RMSC) has barred 42 pharmaceutical companies from participating in future tenders after their products failed quality testing under the state’s Chief Minister Free Medicine Scheme. The move aims to enforce stricter quality compliance in public health procurement.
Key highlights
Multiple year bans imposed based on severity
32 companies have been banned for 1 year
8 companies banned for 2 years
2 companies banned for 3 years
The ban applies to all future tenders and supplies under the government program.
Confirmed quality failures triggered action
Products initially flagged as Not of Standard Quality (NSQ) in preliminary tests were sent for confirmation.
Upon verification, action was taken against the respective companies for violating supply standards.
RMSC emphasizes strengthening drug supply chain
RMSC Managing Director Neha Giri stated that the corporation is reinforcing purchase and supply systems while enhancing quality control mechanisms.
As per RMSC’s quality policy, every medicine batch is tested in approved laboratories before distribution to hospitals.
Focus on free medicine scheme integrity
The CM Free Medicine Scheme plays a vital role in public healthcare delivery in Rajasthan.
The state is now placing greater focus on ensuring medicine quality and timely availability to prevent any compromise in patient safety.
Rajasthan’s decisive move to blacklist pharma suppliers over substandard medicines reflects a firm stance on quality assurance in public drug procurement. The ban serves as a strong deterrent and signals the state’s commitment to upholding medicine standards under its flagship healthcare scheme.
