The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) is in the process of selecting an agency to provide comprehensive market data for pharmaceutical products. This data will support NPPA in decisions related to drug price fixation, revisions, and monitoring, ensuring transparency and accuracy in regulatory actions. The tender has attracted participation from Pharmarack Technologies Pvt. Ltd (Mumbai) and Marg ERP Ltd (Delhi), with the last date for bid submission fixed on September 19, 2025.

Scope of data required
Pack-wise monthly, quarterly, and annual sales units, Moving Annual Turnover (MAT) values, sales value, and market share.
Prices including Maximum Retail Price (MRP), Price to Retailer (PTR), Price to Stockist (PTS) trends, ceiling prices, and retail prices for new drugs.
Classification details: scheduled, non-scheduled, and new drugs under Para 19 of the Drugs Prices Control Order (DPCO).
Reporting requirements
Non-scheduled and scheduled price violation reports with SKU, brand, manufacturer, sales quantity, MRP, and company details.
Monthly statistics on price changes, new launches, growth rates, and top 300 brands’ MAT value.
On-demand data on availability and pricing for specific formulations, therapeutic groups, or regions.
Analytical and advisory responsibilities
Successful agency to provide analytical reports based on collected data.
Data will be used by NPPA and its Multi-Disciplinary Committee (MDC) to advise the government on pricing, affordability, and accessibility of medicines.
Tender process
Technical bids to be opened on September 22, 2025; financial bid opening date to be notified later.
Signed and stamped documents must be uploaded on the NPPA online portal before September 19, 2025.
